The opening page from a new Tank Girl story.. (it’s a WW2 type story.. !!!)

I loved war comics as a kid, especially those drawn by Mike Western, who was one of the medium’s greatest and most modest artists.

He drew Darkie’s Mob, The Sarge, and HMS Valiant amongst others.
His stories made me want to draw comics too.

A quick recap of where we are and where we’re going…

Titan have just released the last in the “remastered” series of original Hewlett & Martin books TANK GIRL: BOOK 3 and the Hewlett & Milligan opus THE ODYSSEY

the later TG series APOCALYPSE will be the next in line for re-vamping.

Titan will be publishing the first issue of the US format edition of TANK GIRL: SKIDMARKS a 4-issue mini series in November. The collected book will follow in May 2010.

Image Comics will be putting out the first in a series of one-shot specials TANK GIRL: DARK NUGGETS in December.

Rufus and I will be in Forbidden Planet on Shaftesbury Ave London, on December 5th at 1pm, signing copies of the above comics and any other shit you care to bring along.

Also now confirmed is the IDW mini-series TANK GIRL: THE ROYAL ESCAPE, which will start in March 2010, dovetailing onto the end of the Skidmarks series.

Starting next summer – TANK GIRL: Bad Wind Rising (4-issue mini + graphic novel collection) followed by TANK GIRL: CARIOCA (6-issue mini + graphic nov) drawn by the legendary Mick McMahon.

Plus more stuff on the boil that I can’t reveal yet.

It has a an old paper texture added ( texture is Courtesy of Christian Krank), and a book exchange stamp I scanned from an old comic book!

This art’s uncropped.. in the final published version you’ll only see part of her head.

I painted the whole head so that I can reposition the art for Promo stuff, or to use as a poster.
